Tax Status
SafeNet is a Pennsylvania nonprofit organization which is classified by the IRS as exempt under IRC Section 501 (c) 3 and as a “public charity” under IRC Section 509. Therefore, donations from individuals and corporations, as well as grants from private foundations, qualify for maximum tax benefits allowable by the IRS.

SafeNet’s Project Connect picks up furniture donations to pass on to families when they begin a new life free from abuse. Many survivors have fled from an abusive home with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Your used items can help.

Project Connect trucks travel county-wide to pick up furniture in good condition. Connect workers move these donations for families at no charge who are setting up a new permanent home free from violence.

Our clients can use all types of furniture, household items, dressers, single beds, mattresses, tables and chairs, kitchen cookware and utensils. Project Connect02 clients particularly need chests of drawers. Single sheets, towels, and framed art will help make a new place seem like home.

Our families may move to small apartments so some large pieces of furniture may not be appropriate.

Clothing, household items, and toys

ALL FURNITURE NEEDS TO BE IN GOOD TO LIKE NEW CONDITION (NO Rips, Stains, Tears, Odors, etc.)

These lists will not necessarily include all items we’ll accept, just a general idea.

• Clothing – Since we have limited space for clothing, we only accept new school clothing and sleepwear.
• Household Items – We accept household items in good working condition. We prefer sets of glasses, dishes, etc. We have limited space and very limited need for large appliances.
• Toys – We accept new toys, books and art supplies – and will gladly accept gently used Little Tyke toys.
• Furniture – We accept used furniture in good condition. See above.
• Toiletries- We only accept new items.
• Baby supplies- We only accept new items.
• Baby Formula
• Ethnic Hair Care Products
• Sweatpants, Sweatshirts/Hoodies, T-Shirts
• Plastic Cups & Bowls
• Can Openers
• Food Storage Bowls
• Underclothing in Various Sizes (Bras, Underwear, Etc. -very large need for these items all the time)
• Kitchen Utensils
• New clothing/shoes for Children, Women & Men in various sizes
• New Car Seats, Strollers, etc.

• Misc. pieces of flatware, dishes or glasses (sets of at least two)

• Broken Appliances & Furniture

• Men’s Dress Clothes (exception of Teenage Boys)

• Baby Cribs with Slats wider than 2-1/4 in. apart
• Used Crib Mattresses

• Console TV’s or the old Standard Def Box TV Sets
• Infant Walkers
• Computers & Computer Accessories

• New toys with small pieces
