SafeNet Launches New Website for Teens

Several weeks ago SafeNet launched its new Facebook page directed towards teens, now SafeNet has launched a companion internet website to reach more of an audience. Violence by and against school-aged youth is a significant problem in the United States. Guns, gangs, and planned shootings in schools receive much of the attention in the press. However, on-going, daily violence such as bullying, harassment, and dating violence, occurs more frequently in schools than do the more widely publicized forms of violence. It occurs between students who are acquaintances, students who consider themselves friends, and students in dating relationships. These actions if repeated and intentional will often leave the victim fearful of what will happen next. Our goal is to help teen recognized some of these issues and were they can go to get help and answers. To view this website logon to http://www.safeteenerie.org/.

SafeNet is not a homeless shelter, but a safe and confidential place specifically for men, women and children who are victims of domestic violence. From every city and township in the area, victims come to SafeNet seeking support, safety and shelter from physical abuse and threats of violence occurring at home. After 35 years of providing shelter and many other supportive services, SafeNet knows first-hand that there is hope and there is help. SafeNet is Pennsylvania's oldest continuous running domestic violence shelter.
