Donor Highlights

Thanks to Santa’s Helpers

With an overwhelming number of families in need for the holidays, SafeNet asked donors to provide a Christmas to Remember in 2017 for our women and children clients. And Erie did not disappoint!

SafeNet received over $6,850 in monetary donations! This was an overwhelming response. The SafeNet elves purchased clothing, toys and small gifts for families and hosted a Christmas party complete with Santa.   A very sincere thank you to all the donors.

Also, thanks to Brad Postema’s group of 17 Erie Insurance Employees. This group featured a “Mitten Tree” in their office. This is a small Christmas tree with mittens made of construction paper used as ornaments. On each mitten is the first name of a child and what that child would like for Christmas.   Brad’s group purchased the items and made 17 children very happy.

And once again, thanks to the employees of the Knox Law Firm who remembered SafeNet families at Christmas.  These employees make Christmas donations to SafeNet an annual event at Knox.

We are very grateful for all of Santa’s Helpers.

Thanks to employees of the Knox Law Firm for another year of providing gifts for SafeNet clients. Pictured (l-r) are Linda Bennine from Knox, Erika Muhammad, Shannon Getz, and Shannon Johnson from SafeNet.

Behrend’s Berkey Ice Cream Walk/Run Donation

Thanks to the Penn State-Behrend Athletic Department, the Berkey Ice Cream Walk/Run was held on August 25, 2017 to benefit SafeNet.  Over $1,500  was raised.

Erie Insurance donates $30,000 to SafeNet in celebration of their 90th Anniversary.

erie insurance dec 2016

(L-R) Erie Insurance Chairman of the Board Tom Hagen, Board of Directors’ Charitable Giving Committee Chair Elizabeth Vorsheck, SafeNet Representative Linda King, Regional Vice President Ann Zaprazny.

In honor of Erie Insurance’s 90th Anniversary and the late Susan Hirt Hagen, Erie Insurance (ERIE) donated a total of $90,000 to charitable organizations across ERIE’s footprint.

Three $30,000 donations were made to organizations that support the arts, education, domestic violence and youth – causes that were important to Susan, daughter of ERIE co-founder H.O. Hirt and first chair of the board of director’s Charitable Giving committee.

Employees voted on the nonprofits that received the donations, and the winners were announced during the annual employee year-end celebration on December 16.

Giving back continues ERIE’s 90-year legacy of supporting the communities in which we do business.

Susan’s legacy of giving back mirrors our own philosophy of “Above All in Service,” and is something ERIE employees easily stand behind.
